The latest ThruDark X REORG Gi, in collaboration with Fortitude, sees our signature “No Quarter Given” design enter the combat sports arena. A lightweight (275g) pearl weave lined jacket paired with 8oz triple stitched pants with front enclosed silicone dipped cords.
Centuries ago, the “Jolly Roger” was used by pirates to intimidate targets into surrender. This iconic motif, skull and crossbones emblazoned on a black flag, would signify that quarter would be given if surrender was prompt. A way out, if only the target would submit.
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu follows a similar code. Two combatants take to the mat, the implicit threat of physical harm swings like a pendulum between the competing human instincts to fight or flight. The overriding urge to submit being the fine distinction between the victor and the vanquished.
